This week the Peace and Cohesion through Advocacy and Dialogue project partners, ActionAid Ethiopia, PADet, and CSA, convened a two-day strategic planning meeting in Adama, to review progress and outline the second-year implementation roadmap. The meeting brought together program managers, finance officers, and project facilitators for in-depth discussions on lessons learned, challenges, and strategic priorities for sustaining peace and social cohesion efforts in targeted regions. Opening the session, Amare Wondimu, Executive Director and Board Chair, underscored the importance of collaborative planning, transparency, and continued commitment to the project’s vision of community-led peacebuilding.

The first day focused on reviewing pending activities and finalizing the second-year action plan, complemented by a detailed presentation on project financial utilization and performance. Participants engaged in group discussions to refine interventions aimed at strengthening civil society coalitions and multi-actor platforms. The second day centered on budget forecasting, MEAL planning, and data tracking systems, ensuring that financial and programmatic accountability remain at the core of implementation. Facilitators highlighted key areas for improvement to enhance coordination and impact.
In closing, participants reaffirmed their shared vision for inclusive and participatory peacebuilding, emphasizing community ownership, dialogue, and advocacy as lasting tools for social transformation. The meeting concluded with a renewed spirit of partnership and clarity on the way
